Montreal - Friday, August 29, 2025

A new building to house the English and French sectors of FACE Elementary School  opened its doors to staff and students on Thursday, August 28 at 4835 Christophe-Colomb in the Plateau.

FACE High School will remain at its original location on University Street for the next several years until relocating to the former Sun Youth headquarters and Baron Byng High on St. Urbain Street.

FACE is the only school that jointly houses ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥and Centre de Service Scolaire de Montréal (CSSDM) staff and students. The CSSDM owns and manages the facilities . The historic University Street building requires almost $400 million in repairs. As a result, the Minister of Education has announced that a major rehabilitation project has been postponed indefinitely. ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥Chair Joe Ortona and Commissioner Maria Corsi were on hand to greet staff and students.

About the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥

Established on July 1, 1998, when the province created new boards along linguistic lines, the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥network consists of 73 schools and centres.
